Project Overview:

The project, Blackwall Reach Luxury Made in Italy Kitchen, was a kitchen renovation for a new family home. The client requested a sophisticated yet welcoming kitchen that utilized honest materials such as wood, concrete, steel, and natural finishes. The client also emphasized the importance of texture to enhance the tactile experience and a functional layout that would blend seamlessly with the outdoor entertainment area and lounge area. The client was open to design suggestions and finishes to achieve the desired outcome.

Design and Execution:

To create the desired aesthetic, the designer worked closely with the client to select vintage stainless steel and wild oak to complement the polished concrete floor. To enhance the tactile experience, the designer incorporated crafted patterns for the stainless steel and extra carving for the wild oak. The result was a perfect blend with the wooden cladding and concrete walls, conferring a sophisticated yet welcoming feeling to the whole area.

The U-shaped wooden island created a multi-functional and dynamic layout. The appliances were positioned within a short distance for maximum functionality, and storage space ran all around, including a meal area. The left-hand side of the island showcased a vintage, patterned, stainless steel Barazza benchtop that acted as a counter bar for the outdoor entertainment area, easily accessible through a sliding door, and accommodated an integrated full welded cooktop. The right-hand side of the island had extra bench width to grant more preparation space, as well as to make everyday meals more comfortable, plus a warm welcoming feeling from the lounge area. The front of the island showcased louver panels and herb planter pots that cleverly hid the sink area, and the aesthetic blended seamlessly with the front dining area.

To achieve a clutter-free kitchen, a cutting-edge pocket door system was incorporated to hide small appliances such as a kettle, coffee machine, and more. To achieve a 100% bespoke outcome, no scribe molding was used.

Outcome:

The completed project was a sophisticated yet welcoming kitchen that utilized honest materials, enhanced the tactile experience, and had a functional layout that blended seamlessly with the outdoor entertainment area and lounge area. The use of vintage stainless steel and wild oak, crafted patterns, and extra carving, created a perfect blend with the wooden cladding and concrete walls. The U-shaped wooden island provided a multi-functional and dynamic layout that emphasized functionality and comfort. The cutting-edge pocket door system and lack of scribe molding resulted in a clutter-free and 100% bespoke kitchen. The designer and Director of Elementi Concept, Giovanni Giannace, successfully achieved the clients' brief. The client was thrilled with the final outcome and the designer's ability to bring his vision to life.
